We all have our different vacation ideas. For some, including myself, is to: relax, lay out by a pool, and have a few drinks with friends and family. Others enjoy experiencing stuff you don’t in your hometown. People think you can lay out and relax at home. You can’t really go on safaris and see different types of animals that you don’t see at home. If you’re interested in different animals, Florida is the place. You can see as far into the wild life from exotic birds to reptiles like alligators and crocodiles. I was lucky enough to go on a safari jeep with my family when I was younger. We experienced giraffes and zebras right in front of us. We also got to hold some of the little animals such as snakes, parrots, and monkeys. The cutest little baby animals I’ve ever seen! It’s fun to see things that you don’t see in your every day backyard at home..unless your backyard is the safari trip. As you can see from my recent blogs, I’ve only been talking about laying out and soaking up the sun. There are other things to Florida as well that can be JUST as fun!

Going to Florida when you’re older is a whole new experience. You are able to do more things, be able to go out without parents, and just think of your vacation as a..well a vacation. It’s such a relaxation experience. I went to Naples, Florida when I was a junior in high school for spring break with my best friend, Mollie. We stayed with her older sister, brother-in-law, and nieces and nephews in their condo. Me and Mollie would just walk to the pool and lay out to soak up the sun and have a few drinks. We met a guy named Connor at the pool who said he would love to show us around. Call me crazy, but me and Mollie agreed for a little tour around the town with a total complete stranger. When I said you can do more things without parents, I never would have thought of getting into a car with a stranger. It was cool though! Naples is more of a retirement city for older people. Nothing too crazy for teenagers to get into, but not boring at all. We hit up beaches, went shopping at outside stores, and got veryyyy tan. I would probably want to hit up Panama for my next Florida trip. I’ll be 2 years older and it would be so fun to get a group of people to go! Naples was my last trip, but I’m hoping to see “The Sunshine State” a lottttt sooner!

Key West..not East May 28, 2010

My sophomore year of high school I got to visit The Keys in Florida. I went with my mom, her mother (my grammy), and my little sister and brother, Emmi and Jacob. Key West is for maybe an older crowd. There were all different kinds of activities to do around the city. We went to ride with dolphins, para sailing for my first time, and went to some type of boardwalk where there were entertainers all night. We met a boy who ran away from home and was making a living off of traveling with the people that all do their own tricks for people in the public. His talent was juggling bowling pins on fire while standing on plywood and balancing himself. If we weren’t at the boardwalk getting entertained, we were in town shopping. We walked from the beginning of the street all the way to the end where we met the water. It was the most Southern point of the US and I got to stand there. Key West to me is a very scandalous place to visit, but in a good way! There is a lot of walking when you visit The Keys, but to me, I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. It’s the only way to experience it. Also, not being worried about princess’ and castles made more time to save for tanning and boy searching.

Vacation For the Little Ones May 18, 2010

I say Florida, you think…what? The first thing that pops into your head is probably warm weather, beaches, relaxation, etc. For little ones, they already know what they’re thinking…DISNEY. Disney World is the best place in the whole wide world! It’s where dreams come true and reality becomes a blur. Even for adults, they are taken back to the years of princesses, knights in shining armor, and happily ever after stories that they remember from their own past. I didn’t step into Disney World until I was 10 years old. It was the best moment of my life. There is a picture of me ahead of my whole family walking towards Cinderella’s castle. I loved it and wanted to take it all in. I had tea with Minnie Mouse, tried to pull out the sword that King Arthur couldn’t, and I even rode on Dumbo, the flying elephant. The point of this Florida vacation is to take children to Disney World as soon as possible. The people I babysit for are actually in Disney World at this very moment. They have 4 year old triplets. I can’t wait to see them Thursday so the kids can excitedly tell me how happy they were when they got there. I’m not saying it’s JUST for the little ones, I’m just saying they are the ones who will appreciate it the most out of anyone who takes a walk down a fairytale path…
